Common questions

Do I need to be a university student?

No. While we primarily target tertiary students, Senior High School students (with parent consent) and young professionals under 30 are also encouraged to apply.

Is there a salary or stipend?

The program is a volunteer-led social impact initiative. Instead of a salary, we provide valuable merch, professional certification, mentorship, and high-tier recognition including internship opportunities.

How do I choose a cause?

Look around your campus or community. Is there a student struggling with fees? A medical emergency? A local clinic needing equipment? Any genuine, verifiable need can be your champion cause.

How long does verification take?

Once you submit your application, we typically respond within 48 hours via WhatsApp to verify your ID and the authenticity of your proposed cause.

Can we apply as a group or society?

Yes! While the application is filled by one lead ambassador, we encourage campus societies and groups to join together to increase their impact.

What if my campaign doesn't reach its goal?

MOMONEYO is a flexible platform. Any funds raised (minus platform fees) will still be disbursed to the verified beneficiary to assist them. No effort is wasted.

Are the internships paid?

No — MOMONEYO internships are currently unpaid. You'll receive an official certificate, a LinkedIn recommendation from the founder, a reference letter, and real portfolio work you can show employers. We're transparent about this upfront because we respect your time.

Can I do both the Ambassador and Internship programs?

Yes — they're designed to complement each other. Many of our best ambassadors also intern with us. Apply for both if you have the capacity.

Is the internship fully remote?

Yes. All internship tracks are 100% remote. You'll work via WhatsApp, Google Meet, email, and shared documents. Occasional optional in-person sessions may happen in Accra or Kumasi, but these are never mandatory.

How many interns do you take per cohort?

Each track has limited spots (1–3 per cohort) to ensure every intern gets real mentorship and meaningful work — not busy work. Total intake is around 14–16 interns per cohort.
