1. Policy Statement
MOMONEYO is committed to the highest standards of financial integrity. Our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) policy is designed to prevent our platform from being used for illegal activities. We maintain a zero-tolerance stance towards money laundering, fraud, and the financing of terrorism.
2. Legal Registration
MOMONEYO is a legally recognized entity in the Republic of Ghana. We operate with full transparency and are subject to regulatory oversight.

3. Ghanaian Legal Framework
This policy is built to comply with the following laws of the Republic of Ghana:
- Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2020 (Act 1044)
- Anti-Terrorism Act, 2008 (Act 762)
- Relevant guidelines from the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) of Ghana.
4. Know Your Customer (KYC)
Rigorous Identity Verification
We perform mandatory identity checks on all campaign creators. This includes the collection and verification of a valid **Ghana Card**, Passport, or Driver’s License. We cross-reference these with registered Mobile Money account details to ensure funds are disbursed only to the verified individual.
5. Campaign Verification
Beyond identity, we verify the **purpose** of every campaign. This includes:
- Verification of medical documents from recognized Ghanaian hospitals.
- Verification of school admission letters or fee statements.
- Manual interview via WhatsApp (+233208529375) to confirm the authenticity of the story.
- Prohibition of AI-generated media to mimic real-life needs.
6. Monitoring Transactions
MOMONEYO employs automated and manual systems to monitor transaction patterns. We look for unusually large donations, layering patterns, and suspicious fundraising velocities.
7. Suspicious Activity Reporting
In accordance with Act 1044, MOMONEYO is obligated to report suspicious transactions to the **Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC)**. We will cooperate fully with Ghanaian law enforcement agencies in any investigation related to money laundering or fraud.
8. Prohibited Users
MOMONEYO will not provide services to:
- Individuals on international or Ghanaian sanction lists.
- Users who provide false, expired, or stolen identification.
- Campaigns originating from or benefiting high-risk jurisdictions.
